Sally's Light

Picture

In 1994 Sally Woodson began teaching Music Together® after working as an actress for 25 years.  She soon became co-director of Eastside Westside Music Together which has serviced over 35,000 families on the upper east and west sides of Manhattan.  During her almost 20 years with Music Together, Sally served on the Advisory Board of the national organization, became an Associate Teacher Trainer, a Songs and Skills Workshop Leader, and co-headed the Video Production Team that created video and multi-media materials.  Her work touches the lives of not only the families she taught in class, but the teachers she helped train and mentor and all the families whose lives they touch every day.  Sally’s influence is seen, heard, and felt throughout the Music Together community and her light will continue to shine.

Sally believed that all families have the right to quality music education which is why, in 2009 she helped co-found ArtStrides. Sally’s Light will help ArtStrides provide Music Together to families experiencing hardships who would not be able to participate.  Each year, $2,000 will be awarded to qualifying families from Music Together centers all across the country.
